Consumer
Focus
Each year, the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Southwest
Illinois sponsors the area’s most important promotion opportunities
. . . our consumer Home Show. The Home Show is attended by thousands
of consumers interested in buying a new home or improving and remodeling
their current one. Over 200 exhibits represent the leading builders,
remodelers and supplier companies. The Home Show media campaigns
include Buyers Guide, regional advertising to a distribution list
of over 156,500 in area newspapers and special home show tabloids,
media coverage before and during the shows, and seminar presentation
opportunities for members. Show location ensure the HBA covers the
entire Metro-East area.
Advocacy
for You
The Association maintains a powerful voice that influences local,
state, and federal policies impacting the building industry. Unfavorable
legislation and regulations can inhibit your freedom to do business
and to make a fair profit, and adversely impact the consumer. As
a member, you help shape the laws that directly affect your business.
Advertising
The HBA’s newsletter, the HBA Newsbrief is a publication targeting
members, government and business leaders. Each issue includes an
industry issues update, announcements of educational and professional
activities sponsored by the HBA, and news about HBA members, the
National Association of Home Builders and the Home Builders Association
of Illinois. The Newsbrief provides features on member services
and projects. It is an excellent opportunity to advertise directly
to HBA members.
Industry
Involvement Remodelors Council
Established in 1998, the HBA Remodelors Council is dedicated to
raising the professionalism and credibility of its members through
education, information and community involvement. The Council serves
as the local support for those in the industry to find solutions
to common problems. Remodelors Council members are members of the
HBA who agree to the Code of Ethics and meet specific business requirements
to gain the privilege of using the special Remodelors Council logo.
In addition to all HBA benefits, members of this exclusive group
also receive the NAHB Remodelors Council newsletter and industry
alerts, and attend meetings on topics specific to the remodeling
industry. There is an additional charge for these specialized benefits.

the building and development industry. Written materials and audio

have access to the NAHB Member Service Center, where your business
questions are answered in more than 500 subject areas.
Seminars and workshops that address the vital issues
touching our industry are held throughout the year.
Member networking is a key benefit, and the HBA provides
ample opportunity to meet informally with potential customers. General
meetings, the golf outing, Member Appreciation Day, Associate 'Table
Top' Night, Christmas party & auction and other events are custom-made
for networking.

is a particularly special night, in that we recognize the top trade
schools' students.
