As southwest Illinois continues its emergence as a premier new home option for an increasing number of home buyers, the role of the folks who work directly with the consumer became increasingly essential. Builders’ Sales Managers, on-site sales professionals, real estate agents and the creative talents who present the finished product to consumers are absolutely vital to the successful sale of new homes in this diverse regional marketplace. To truly be “…the voice of the housing industry…” the HBA had to create specialized opportunities for this unique component of that industry.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Southwest Illinois created the SMC in March of 2002, and received its charter from the National Sales & Marketing Council that June. The SMC has been very active since its inception, building an award-winning membership base and producing educational programming; sales-driven events; and promotional opportunities for builders and their sales team, land developers, licensed real estate brokers and agents, professional service providers and associate members.

Meeting Information
The SMC has settled on a permanent ‘home’ for its monthly meetings…the Fountains Conference Center at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Fairview Heights. These meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning with registration and breakfast at 8:00 a.m., program from 8:30 to 10:00. These meetings are open to all. There is a $10 cost to SMC members; all others are $15.00. Reservations are preferred.

Membership in the SMC is open to individual employees of
HBA member companies.

Dues are $65 annually after approved membership in the HBA.
